The definition of elitist is:” A person who believes that a system should be ruled or dominated by an elite.”

I don’t believe that Booker T. Washington believed in this or ran his school with this in mind.

He showed that he didn’t believe in this when the school first started. He took his ax to the woods to set an example for the students.

If he was elitist he most likely would not have done that; as he was the head of the school. If he was an elitist he would have made the students do this.

Booker T. Washington was a big advocate for equal rights. He believes that no matter the color of your skin, you can do anything, if you are willing to work. He did the grunt work, and since he did, he is now known for Tuskegee, which testify’s that he did the grunt labor. He was a slave and he became the head of a very successful school. This shows that if you are willing to work, you can do ¬†anything
